MAKING FOOD ENJOYABLE

"A recipe is a story that ends with a good meal."

Pat Conroy

The kitchen is the heart of the home, there is no doubt about that. More than this, the kitchen is the life force of communities around the world. It is where food, garden, and lifestyle come together in perfect harmony - we cook there, we talk there, we prepare our homegrown produce there, we liveand we grow there. Where there is a community, there is a kitchen, and where there is a kitchen, there is a community. People’s fondest memories of loved ones often revolve around the kitchen - baking together, eating together, preparing seeds to plant together. The kitchen is a safe space. We wanted to be able to bring this safe space into the homes of everyone. That’s where The Kitchen Community comes in.

Today, the focus of The Kitchen Community is on educating chefs and aspiring chefs on all aspects of cooking. We encompass food, lifestyle, and gardening under the guiding hand of our Managing Editor, Cassie Marshall. Cassie is a chef, gardener, and author and she brings her years of experience to create a community for everyone. Through our virtual kitchen, you will discover recipes that have come from the heart, guides telling you the ‘best of’ different ingredients and food products, substitutes, and of course, informative articles that answer your burning questions on topics like baking,  international food and side dishes. Check out our vegan info too!

The aim of The Kitchen Community is to introduce you to some new recipes, to expand your knowledge about food, garden, and lifestyle related topics, and to give you a place where you feel at home. Our virtual community will be a welcome place for those who hold all of these things dear, as well as anyone wanting to begin their journey to a healthier lifestyle

“Everything happens in the kitchen. Life happens in the kitchen.” – Andrew Zimmern

Whether you’re a ‘throw-everything-in-the-pan’, experimental type of chef or a self professed pro who meticulously follows each recipe, you are sure to have some recipes that you hold dear to your heart. Perhaps a cookie recipe that has been passed down through the generations of your family, or the first meal you made your partner.

We aim to provide you with recipes that will be held with the same revere. We are really passionate about providing recipes that will suit everyone, giving substitutes for ingredients that you may not have lying about your house.

One of our favorites is our Ice Cream Recipe Without Cream. Just because you eat a dairy-free diet, does not mean you should miss out on the deliciousness of ice cream, right? You are sure to find your next favorite dish from our recipe section! Also check out our friends at The Kitchen Everything.

So many different food products, so little time, right? Not to mention the fact that even the most obscure products often have lots of different options from different brands! We are very proud of our ‘Best Of’ guides that compile a number of options from different brands of a variety of food products.

One example is the guide we did on The 5 Best Coconut Flour Substitutes. In this article we researched thoroughly the different substitutes and then handpicked some of the best ones we found, using them and reviewing them for you.

In our ‘Best Of’ guides, another thing we like to explore is the best products by a certain brand. We look at the products a brand makes and choose the ‘Best Of’ them so you know exactly what to buy. We did this when we explored Rao Sauces.

We researched and then chose three of the best sauces we could find, reviewing them in detail for you! These guides are great for the indecisive buyers among us who just cannot pick what product to buy!

We even answer some of those questions you may feel too silly to ask, such as “Are limes unripe lemons?”. No question is a silly question here at The Kitchen Community. We even answer all your freezer and food storage related queries - I mean, haven’t we all internet searched “can you freeze tortillas?” after burrito night?!

This Informational Guide section aims to provide you with some of the most obscure knowledge as well as some really handy food safety information!
